Santo Stefano

Santo Stefano is a tribute to Santo Cambianica and Stefano Riboli, two pioneers of the California wine industry. In 1917, Santo arrived from Italy and founded San Antonio Winery, Saint Anthony's Winery. His nephew Stefano joined him in 1938. Together, they began a tradition of family winemaking that spans four generations and continues today.

Sonoma County's Alexander Valley is famous for Cabernet Sauvignon. Our longtime friendships have provided access to the outstanding fruit of two Alexander Valley families. The Demostene and Saini families have farmed their estate vineyards for many generations. The loamy-clay soils, warm days, and cool nights provide the ideal environment for Cabernet Sauvignon. Neighboring vineyards include Silver Oak and Jordan.

Fruit from each vineyard is fermented separately to preserve its unique flavors or terroir. These individual lots are aged in American oak barrels for 24 months. The final blend is determined just prior to bottling.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Santo Stefano Cabernet Sauvignon is a mouth-filling wine with smooth texture and soft tannins. Enticing aromas of vanilla and spice are followed by ripe flavors of blackberry, currant, and black cherry. The finish shows hints of bittersweet chocolate. Within each handcrafted bottle, we celebrate the achievements of our family and all the pioneers of the California wine industry.
