San Antonio Winery

San Antonio is one of the last wineries to specialize in the production of dessert wines.  These wines serve multiple purposes.  They can be served as dessert beverages, and they are ideal as flavor ingredients for food preparation in both home and restaurant kitchens.

Fortified wines are made by the addition of brandy to partially fermented grape must.  This "arrests" the fermentation and creates a sweet wine with high sugar content.  San Antonio uses grapes that are renown for the creation of fine dessert wines.  These varieties are well suited to warm climates and grown exclusively in California's San Joaquin Valley.
